Canada is a whole lot bigger than the great lakes drainage basin.

Definite “oh crap” charts there. From Norway....not known as a great wheat producer....

“The official view in Norway is in contrast to what the people experience because of cooling weather: Late spring gives flooding and avalanches when late snow-melting in the mountains. Water pipes freeze because of early and deep frost in the winter. Insect populations down 40% in 5 years because of cool and wet summers. This of cause is bad for pollination of fruit and berries. The grain harvest in Norway this summer is down 18% from average the last 5 years, despite increase in area and better seeds. But officially it is getting warmer.”

and the global picture ...a 1.2 degree drop in global temperatures translates into 21% drop in world wide grain production

and for history buffs.....check out the paintings in the UK Tate gallery and in Amsterdam...showing thew tail end of the 400 year long mini ice age 1350 to 1750

The Frozen Thames, looking Eastwards towards Old London Bridge: 1677 Credit: Museum of London ...check the thickness of the ice.

And a contribution from the US 1776

Lot of ice in that river.

You have to hope that the bottom chart projecting a Maunder “type” minimum is wrong.

I don't think so....

Solar cycle 24 /25 is tracking almost the same as solar cycles 5 and 6...

Remember Obama and the dims lie about everything....including global warming...

to what result....?

Read Obama's buddy Bill Ayres.....we have to terminate about 23 million Americans who would refuse to be "re-educated"

Global cooling sans electricity will accomplish that.

Just a guess on my part, but the average level may include all the data available since records were first kept.

At least that’s how I would display it if I wanted to look at the last few years relative to the long term.

We've discussed this before.

The "unexpected" rise is primarily because the loony warmists are on record as saying the lake levels would simply retreat forever (because science, and models, of course) as globull warming destroys us.

When it was at its high in 1986, they blamed it on the coming ice age.......it was very convenient for a while, that they had predicted in their models warming would cause the lakes to drop.

The cycle of rising and falling of the great lakes has gone on for a long time. The warmists simply ignored reality, I can't wait to see what they're gonna make up next.

And yes, I am the shark of this lake......I know it well.

When you think about the ice age returning, what is the one thing we could do to save lives ? Change the climate. In fact we will probably be spending the majority of our resources just to change the climate and keep us alive at least locally and possibly regionally. And what is the one thing the murdering thugs running the US and Europe want to prevent and stop right now ? Climate change. So yes, one has to conclude that the climate change folks are mass murderers. Just like the mass murderers who ruled during the 1900’s. Hitler, Stalin, Mao, etc.

Well, since all but about fifty miles of our northern border is the shore of a Great Lake we are a bit familiar with them. A Buckeye is a tree native to Ohio that produces a nut which resembles the eye of a deer, hence the name. If Alabama can name its team after an algae bloom using an elephant as their mascot, I suppose we’re allowed to use a poisonous nut.

He said a combination of record snowfall, wet conditions and above average temperature contributed to the water levels rising so much.

“Last year we had the ice coverage that didn’t allow water to evaporate from the lake, just snow fall, ice coverage and rain through the seasons,” Schropp said.

Do these two back to back sentences make sense?

How long have they been tracking the water level?

In liberal speak that means 20-25 years. (maybe)
