I am kind of new to this particular dust up.
But the story is confusing as hell.
They say its an anti Islamic march.
Then they mention Bachman without indicating who he was.
Then it was about anti fascists.
So I guess it was anti-facists behind some guy name Bachman protesting about islam?
The stuff that passes for journalism in the world today is downright scary. Before all of this alternative media what we got might have been propaganda, but at least you could make sense to the writing.
Patriotic Europeans Against the Islamization of the West[note 1] (German: Patriotische Europäer gegen die Islamisierung des Abendlandes), acronymically PEGIDA and Pegida, is a German organization based in Dresden. Since October 2014 it has been organizing public demonstrations, aimed at the German government, against what it considers to be the Islamization of the Western world.
Pegida was founded in October 2014 by Lutz Bachmann, who runs a public relations agency in Dresden.[1] Bachmann’s impetus for starting Pegida was witnessing a rally by supporters of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) on 10 October in Dresden,[2][3] which he posted the same day on YouTube.[4] The next day he founded a Facebook group called Patriotische Europäer Gegen die Islamisierung des Abendlandes (”Patriotic Europeans against Islamization of the Occident”)[5] which initially was mainly directed against arms shipments to the PKK.[2]
A few days earlier, on 7 October, a group of Muslims assumed to be Salafists had violently attacked PKK supporters who were gathering after a demonstration against the Islamic State.[6] The same day Yazidis and Muslim Chechens had violently clashed in Celle.[7] On October 26, of 5000 protesters, “at least 400 right-wing extremists went on a rampage in downtown Cologne during a demonstration” by “Hooligans Against Salafists”.[2]

Anyone remember that “sleeping giant” Admiral Yamamoto feared awakening at the start of WWII? It occurs to me that there are other slumbering giants and the cockroaches of islime may have awakened them.

Any movement that is about booting Islamists out of Western countries is a good thing. I hope this catches on, and grows so large that Western leaders are forced to throw multiculturalism onto the trash heap of failed, idiotic social experiments. Muslims have homelands, places they’ve already ruined. They don’t belong in the West.
I agree. I went to the article, and found it incoherent.
Checked the name because I thought perhaps someone was translating a German report in a hurry. But the byline says Anderson!

The Europeans have every right to protest and they should, but they also have the terrible problem that the most far right, neo-Nazi sorts always are part of such movements, and often lead them.
The Bachman you are wondering about:

Until a movement can put some distance between their totally legitimate concerns and the worst of the far right, they will always be at a disadvantage.
