Chris Mortensen reports, the NFL has found that 11 of the Patriots footballs used in Sunday’s AFC title game were under-inflated by 2 lbs each, per league sources.

The league says the New England Patriots used deflated footballs during their AFC Championship Game win over the Indianapolis Colts.

They say that 11 balls were under-inflated by two pounds each, according to ESPN’s Chris Mortensen.

“We are not commenting at this time,” Greg Aiello, the NFL’s senior vice president of communications, said to ESPN.

As a Hoosier, I'll start by saying that the Colts didn't play well enough to win that game. They over-achieved all year.

THAT SAID, this isn't the first time New England has been caught cheating.

Anything short of "The Death Penalty", being kicked out of the Super-bowl, and they'll just be laughing all the way to the bank.

They will be making ten's of millions of dollars from the Super-bowl, even if they lose, so they could care less if they get fined a million dollars, or lose the second-worst draft pick for next year.

This goes to ETHICS, more than anything else.

The Patriots should fire the ball handler, he missed one...

Not a football fan, but from what I’ve read apparently it’s better for kicking to have a normally inflated ball — that one is probably the one they do kicking stuff with.

Yes, Bellicheat left one ball inflated for his kicker.

Every time a player grabs a lineman’s jersey, trying to get away with it, isn’t that cheating?

Do they have testing equipment that can determine the pressure in an already inflated ball, without having to release some of the air to get that data? Something like a Rockwell hardness test for inflatable balls, for instance? Or does it come down to what it feels like to a game official (pressing a thumb into the ball would be a sort of Rockwell hardness test; but it’s obviously not very reliable)?

The ‘Kicking Balls’ are handled separately by the Officials. They are inspected before each game. The ‘Scrimmage Balls’ are supplied by each team’s offense for their own use while on the field.

What brought this about was a Patriots pass was intercepted by a Colt defender and he could tell the ball didn’t feel right and so he took it to the coach and he notified the officials......................

Ethics? Cheaters, rapists, murderers, domestic violence, child abusers and the common thugs of the NFL does not equal ethics.

It’s worse than that friends. Check out this:

Brian Tuohy’s follow up book to his The Fix is In,
LARCENY GAMES: Sports Gambling, Game Fixing and the FBI

I didn’t want to believe this, but wow, this is astonishing. There is nothing random about winning or losing in the NFL. Gambling has and will continue to make this game as fake as wrestling

Belichick should express outrage like Obama does. “I am as angry as anyone else. We are going to investigate this, and when we find the responsible parties, they will be punished.” Then, retreat back to the clubhouse and go about the business of winning the Super Bowl. Dismiss further questions as “old news”. Bob

Did New England play with their own balls, or did the Colts use the same ones?

Would those be the same officials that handle the balls in between EVERY snap?

If one cheating scandal wasn’t enough for the Patriots, now they have two. Now will they be forever linked to cheating. Way to go, Pats!

Belichick should be banned, IMO.
How many times does he need to be caught cheating before he’s dumped?

Of course it is. Everyone knows that holding is against the rules. Sometimes it turns a loss into a touchdown. Every baseball team tries to steal its opponent’s signals. Part of the game.

Belichick fired

Patriots disqualified - the deflated ball wouldn't have made a difference in last weekends Colts game - but how many close games did they win to get to the playoffs?

Colts and the next best team have an unscheduled game to see who replaces Patriots to play the Seahawks.

One more game in the football season and a league that makes a definitive statement about cheating

I'm not holding my breath
