Traces Of Oil Found In Montana Town's Water Supply After Spill
NPR ^ | 1/20/2015 | KRISHNADEV CALAMUR

Officials in Montana say they have detected traces of oil in the water supply of the town of Glendive, days after up to 50,000 gallons of oil spilled from a break in a pipeline along the Yellowstone River.

NPR's Kirk Siegler is reporting on the story for our Newscast unit. He says:

"The EPA and other emergency responders are having bottled water shipped to ... Glendive. Preliminary tests have indicated that some traces of oil have entered Glendive's water supply. There have been no reports yet of injuries, but the damage assessment is ongoing and everything is being hampered by the fact that parts of the Yellowstone River are frozen this time of the year." Elevated levels of benzene, a cancer-causing compound, were found in samples taken from a water treatment plant that serves the community of about 6,000 people.

Throw in some dirt. It will soak the oil right up.

My thought exactly when I heard about this on the radio today. This was done by the anti-Keystone Kommies. There’s no doubt about it.

Traces of oil.

I’ve drank oil, transmission fluid (both auto and manual trans), anti-freeze, and battery acid. Didn’t hurt me.

Besides, if you could see what’s on the inside of your area’s water supply pipes, oil would be the least thing you would worry about.

NPR’s prime mission: destroy the oil industry, and all other other activity but government, the one ring to rule us all.

” break in a pipeline along the Yellowstone River. “

Seems like this happened just a few years ago as well. It was cleaned up quickly with little damage I think.

I use to install water mains, when connecting a new line to the main we used a core cutter made by “Mueller.” The cut into the side of the pipe is taken to a state lab and analyzed in order to determine the amount of pipe “tuberculosis.” Along with all the minerals that are in water every sort of microbe you can think of resides in it along with whatever makes it into it from soil run-off (fertilizer etc...) carcasses from anything that frequents the water supply. The tuberculosis has been diminishing since we have been getting away from cast iron and steel piping. There is a reason we chlorinate and flush sections of water main....look at the build up you get in your shower head?...then multiply it by???? a zillion ?

But the EPA can pollute the water table in the ‘80s by requiring that MBTE be added to gasoline as an oxygenate to increase octane.

Unfortunately, the carcinogenic residue leached into the water table, particularly in CA and NY. Did we hear much about that when the ignorant government bureaucrat’s endangered the two most populous states at the time? Ohhhh noooo.

Isn’t it taught in school any more that water and oil don’t mix!

The oil they pump at terminal island area of los Angeles is half water and half oil.

They seperate the 2 and send the oil to the refinery and the water into the drinking water system!!!!

The Nazis at the EPA would - and they can’t - strangle you in your bed, rape your wife and sell your children into slavery. The EPA comes to us straight from Nazi Germany and Hitler’s Lebensraum (living space), carried out by Himmler’s SS.

Thank you, Tricky Dick Nixon, you traitor piece of garbage.

Our precious bodily fluids can deal with these minute amounts of fossil fuel infiltration.

However, EPA infiltration, and indoctrination of our precious bodily fluids may prove fatal in the long run.

Have you guys read the comments on the NPR site. Unbelievable! I guess they don’t realize that transporting oil and gas by pipeline is by far the safest means available. It is far safer than trucks, trains or ships. Yet these idiots who all are dependent on petroleum products are parroting the anti-pipeline mantra.
