A white nominee could be aggressively questioned in the nomination process. As a member of a protected group, Loretta Lynch is above the law and it would be racist to ask her embarrassing questions.

No, because being black is the first requirement. I remember, back in the 70s when I worked for a traditionally black university, the “search” to find a president to replace the one that had resigned. Rumors were flying that a certain highly qualified white may be chosen. Reportedly, the search committee was so concerned that it decided, off the record of course, to only interview black candidates. Which they did and another black president was chosen. To date, only blacks have occupied the top spot of the university.
