Not sure that this confirms the story or not. Based on the book, Chris was drinking pretty heavily for a period - could he have been padding his stories during that time? His accomplishments in theater are well known and verified, perhaps he had desire to continue being the baddest man alive when he got back for awhile. He's a hero, of that there is no doubt - but this particular story hasn't been confirmed at this point.

"...were in the presence of one of the most skilled fighters in U.S. military history."

Biggest mistake those robbers ever made!

...that would be Kyle's Wife & Kids.

Well, not really. Never let the truth get in the way of a good story, eh?

In Beckwith’s “Delta Force”, he describes one of the Delta operators going home one night as they were preparing for their mission, and a burglar was inside his darkened house. Of all the nightmare scenarios that you don’t want to accidentally stumble into with a Delta shooter.......

Is not taking money from 'Kyle's Estate" taking money from his widow and family?

Is that what you're trying to argue about?

Any day now a federal judge in Minnesota will rule on Taya Kyle’s request to transfer Jesse Ventura’s defamation case to downtown Dallas. But until that happens, attorneys representing the widow of slain American Sniper Chris Kyle and the wrestler-turned-governor continue to trade barbs in court documents, including one filed Tuesday, that grow increasingly ugly.

From your article:

Jesse Ventura, former Navy SEAL (yes, he really was)...

I have it on good authority that Ventura was never a SEAL for a day in his life.

What else in this article is wrong?

Ventura is a liar who was never a Navy SEAL in his life.
He was a UDT frogman and that’s great, but circa 1972 they were NOT SEALs. You cannot retroactively make Ventura a SEAL by saying, “But all UDT guys were SEALs. It’s official. All the SEALs agree.”

BULL$#it. SEALs went to Viet Nam and got shot and blown up. UDT guys (like Ventura) went to Subic Bay in the Philippines and stacked pesos on bottles of San Miguel as a unique tip to the girls.

If you insist Ventura is a SEAL, just tell me, which SEAL team was he assigned to? Answer: None.

And why did the US Navy have two different designator codes, 5321 and 5326, to distinguish between UDT men and SEALs? Riddle me that.

Having read around the Web this weekend about Chris Kyle, I think the general consensus, with which I agree, is that this story, among others, was a complete fabrication and have no supporting evidence in police records or elsewhere.

I loved the movie, but it is clear that, in addition to being a top sniper, Kyle was also the master of tall tales. Ask Jesse Ventura about that.

Jesse Ventura, as a “public figure”, overcame huge odds to win his libel case against Kyle, which has been sustained upon review by higher courts. While I personally think that Ventura should have stayed away with his lawsuit, especially once Kyle had died, the fact is that he apparently won his trial with ease.

“Kyle was also the master of tall tales. Ask Jesse Ventura about that.”

Of course Jesse “The Fake-SEAL Wussy” Ventura knows about tall tales, he’s told a number of them.

Really? “With ease”? I don’t recall very many juries needing 6 days to deliberate. This wasn’t won easily.

Being in the military forced him to move a lot, and neither of his children was born in Texas. But for each birth, he had family send a box of dirt from home—so the first ground his kids’ feet touched would be Texas soil. He was outspoken on a lot of issues. He believed strongly in the Second Amendment, politely decrying the “incredible stupidity” of gun control laws anytime he was asked.

Great post...

Maybe Kyle should have thought of what might happen before he named Ventura as "Scruff Face" on the Opie & Andy show.

Apart from the logical flaw in inferring that only Ventura’s witnesses would lie for him and not Kyle’s, consider the testimony of Bill and Charlene DeWitt, two witnesses who were at the bar the night of the “fight”:

Bill DeWitt has known Ventura since the two underwent Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL training together in 1969. . . . The DeWitts, Ventura and other BUD/S classmates . . . convened at McP’s bar the night before the ceremony — the same night Kyle and his colleagues were at the bar for the wake of slain SEAL Michael Monsoor. . . . ”I was eavesdropping on Jesse,” [Charlene DeWitt] said. She heard him criticize the war in Iraq but didn’t hear him badmouth fallen soldiers or argue with younger servicemen. She said she didn’t see him get into a fistfight or sport a black eye or bruised face in the following days. . . . Bill DeWitt also testified that he hadn’t seen or heard any of the events described in the book.

Ventura is a liar who was never a Navy SEAL in his life.

The defamation lawsuit wasn't about whether Ventura was a SEAL. Whether he was or not was not material to his being defamed by Kyle in the book.

If you insist Ventura was lying about the events of that evening, why did he win the defamation lawsuit?
