Yeppers. That waterline is going by 1 foot per century.
But passing a carbon tax is worth 1.3 trillion a year in new tax revenues.
Passing a mandatory carbon-trading scheme worldwide (through the UN and EU) is worth 6 trillion a year to the democrats’ banker and overseas investors.
Neither will change sea level rise.

It is actually less than 1 foot:
for Miami Beach:
Mean Sea Level Trend 8723170 Miami Beach, Florida :
" The mean sea level trend is 2.39 millimeters/year with a 95% confidence interval of +/- 0.43 mm/yr based on monthly mean sea level data from 1931 to 1981 which is equivalent to a change of 0.78 feet in 100 years."
For Key West :
Mean Sea Level Trend 8724580 Key West, Florida:
" The mean sea level trend is 2.31 millimeters/year with a 95% confidence interval of +/- 0.15 mm/yr based on monthly mean sea level data from 1913 to 2013 which is equivalent to a change of 0.76 feet in 100 years."
Note that with a longer dataset, the Key West trend is lower.
Perhaps the mayor could push for "100 year" building regulations: "all buildings must have the first floor at least .78 feet above maximum high tide".
