TV newscasters - presenters in the UK -are paid hundreds of thousands of dollars to do as told. They read what is put before them. They are judged on their ability to convince their audience of anything they say. The starting wage for a TV weatherman is $700,000 per year in most cases. Pretty faces lie.
They are a large part of the problem since people will believe anything they see on TV.
