My thought is that a pro-homo ruling will quickly lead to a constitutional convention with a new amendment regarding the sanctity of marriage. Sadly, for the Supreme Court enablers - a constitutional amendment is not unconstitutional.

You need 38 states to ratify a constitutional amendment. There are 14 states that have enacted same-sex marriage by popular vote or by vote of the state legislature (CA, CT, DE, HI, IL, MA, MD, ME, MN, NH, NY, RI, VT, WA), plus one state whose legislature voted for it but where it was vetoed by the Governor (NJ). So I don't think you would get more than 35 states to ratify that amendment (probably fewer).
