A tea party leader from Iowa, a key state in the presidential elections, is joining conservative neurosurgeon Ben Carson's prospective 2016 campaign.
Carson will launch an exploratory committee in the next few weeks and has hired political operative Ryan Rhodes to oversee campaign operations in Iowa, The Iowa Republican reports.
According to The Hill, Rhodes joined Carson's efforts after talking to other potential Republican presidential candidates, including Sen. Ted Cruz (Texas) and Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker.
"I'm joining team Carson," Rhodes told The Hill. "I'm going to be working with his American Legacy [PAC] stuff. If he decides to move forward on a presidential bid, I'd love to see that happen and I'll be part of that effort."
Rhodes endorsed former Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) and served as her tea party outreach director in Iowa before she dropped out of the 2012 presidential race....

Is that YOUR money talking, Rove?
Wait a minute, somethings wrong, according to the Marxist/Progressive/Liberal/RINO-elite narrative, isn’t the TeaParty racist??? NO, that wss ALWAYS a trumped up excuse to defame the TeaParty among a politically ignorant public?
Anytime an article identifies someone as a “Tea Party Leader” you are guaranteed that the article has another agenda.
There are no Tea Party “Leaders”. There hasn’t been any elections or appointments. The person might have self-appointed themselves, or perhaps they’ve helped organize an event or have spoken out.
A more accurate title of the article might be:
Random Person, Who We’ll Label As a Conservative, Joins Prospective Ben Carson Presidential Campaign, So Ben Carson Must Be a Right-Winger And All of You Blacks Had Better Not Think About Switching Parties
If Rhodes’s money were talking to Cruz, I don’t think Cruz would be listening ...
Every member of the TEA party is the leader of the TEA Party.
” Anytime an article identifies someone as a Tea Party Leader you are guaranteed that the article has another agenda.”
NAILED!
My disqualifying points for Dr. Carson are: 1) he’s entirely too soft on 2d Amendment issues, to the point of actually suggesting restrictions on semi- auto firearms in large cities and 2) he’s no more than a boutique candidate who has no real hope of being nominated, let alone elected. As such a candidate, he’s simply going to drain conservative votes and money from the stronger candidates who have a real chance to win the nomination. That means his candidacy helps the RINOS, giving the DemonCrap candidate a better chance to win.
Some people didn’t learn a thing from the Herman Cain fiasco. They want so badly for there to be a black nominee to show conservatives aren’t racist. If Ben Carson was a white MD nobody would have even heard of him.
