Coincidentally, my teenage son recently started buying, selling and trading shoes. He’s also purchased some cleaning gear and paints to touch-up shoes. I’ve seen him buy a pair of shoes for $40 and sell those same shoes for $120 within a few hours.

Given some girls I've dated, used sneakers ain't even on the list of ick factor.

Penicillin. Invented for a reason.

That’s possible. I hadn’t considered collectible value, or even that there could be such a thing for sneakers.

I suppose if buyers can overcome the ick factor of wearing someone else’s shoes it will take off.

This is VERY common in the black community. Entire clothing lines are dedicated to buy-wear-return. If you notice, blacks or members of the black community in popular culture wear clothes with tags and labels all over them. This is so that they can return them to the store and get something else. It's sort of like "leasing" clothes.

I also predict this store will be robbed within 6 months. Just saying.

The foot ware industry is currently writing legislation to protect the public form the ill effects of underground foot ware trade. Republicans will move this forward soon, because it could lead to a constitutional crisis! /s

Chumlee on Pawn Stars is an expert in the collectable sneaker market. He recently looked at a supposedly valuable pair of sneakers and immediately declared them fakes showing how to determine it for the pair. He has his own large collection of sneakers.
