Obama to Senate Dems: ‘I’m going to play offense’

....he’s prepared to veto hostile legislation, including an Iran sanctions package.

Obama made clear Thursday in a closed-door session with Senate Democrats that he’s prepared to veto hostile legislation from the GOP-controlled Congress, including an Iran sanctions package on the front-burner of Capitol Hill.

According to several sources at the Thursday summit in Baltimore, Obama vowed to defend his agenda against Republicans in Congress, promised to stand firm against GOP efforts to dismantle his agenda and called on his Democratic colleagues to help sustain his expected vetoes. The president also was explicit over his administration’s opposition to an Iran sanctions bill, promising to veto legislation with his administration in the midst of multilateral nuclear negotiations with the Middle Eastern regime.

They arent afraid. Thats what people have to get over/past. They are DEMOCRATS.

All the GOP is is a pressure relief valve so people on the right can pray to the Blue Fairy one more time every election. They don’t intend, and have not intended since Reagan termed out, to do anything but assist the open left from making America communist.

And anyone offended by that reality need to reread their actual actions in office. Meaningless votes, capitulation and repeated funding for the furthest left programs in American history.

Facts suck.

Hey Norm, the Dem is ALWAYS worse.

Now, let’s be honest. I NEVER read a Post from a FReeper that supported a RINO in a PRIMARY Election. I could have missed one, but I’m sure you have a list if it happened.

Now, if you are saying that many FReepers supported a RINO over a Democrat in the GENERAL Election, you are probably correct. I would be one of those FReepers.

I will never do anything to enable a Democrat to achieve Elected Office. That includes NOT Voting for ANY Democrat, NOT sitting out an Election thus giving a Democrat an unearned Vote and certainly NOT Voting Third Party, a mistake I made in 1992 and will never do again.

Yes, the Dem is always worse IMHO. You disagree, so be it.

It’s not a matter of disagreement. It’s a fact. They arent.

When a liar lies to you and you know it’s a lie, no biggie. When your ‘friend’ who support and trust sticks the butcher block in your back, that’s far worse than some POS doing it. In it’s a lot worse when Republicans stick the block, all the knives in it and the kitchen drawer into 320,000,000 backs.

When a person promises conservatism and delivers liberalism, that’s worse.

I'm afraid we're about to find out we have a "one party" system running a non-stop version of kabuki theater on the American public.

I wish it wasn't so, but the further things unfold the more it sure looks that way.

"Hey Norm, the Dem is ALWAYS worse."

Andrew Jackson?

"When Jackson took office, the national debt was about $58 million. Six years later, it was all gone. Paid off. And the government was actually running a surplus, taking in more money than it was spending."

I followed many of your comments in the past and I can only applaud you for clearly stating what was going down in the moment.

The only way some of these things will eventually register with the denser minded members of this forum is when it finally DIRECTLY affects them.

To put it simply.. when it finally burns THEIR a$$ then they "get it." Unfortunately, then it's too late.

Thanks. I very much appreciate that.

I agree. Ultimately, they are nothing but the libs they mock. They want their cake and demand eating it too, one RINO at a time. Their material goods are more important than principle or their country. And when they lose their toys/rights when the alligator finally gets to them, I hope it really hurts. Because stupidity SHOULD be painful.

He’s good at playing...he plays a Christian, when he’s really a Muslim. He plays straight while he’s really gay. He plays American while he’s Indonesian.

Well, It’s not unique. Plenty of liberals have played conservatives on Fr for years now. They are easy to spot. They scream bloody murder for conservatism, beat their chests about patriotism, and then run out and vote for RINOs with fully leftist records no matter what.

Mr. Norm, A longtime friend sent me this a few days ago and I believe it clearly refers, in a slightly roundabout manner, to what you're expounding on.

"There are those who do not know and do not know that they do not know – they are dangerous and should be shunned. And then there are those who do not know and think they do. They are more dangerous because they are normally politicians and influence the environment in which we live and operate."
