Oh no, that portion of their “services” budget will be defended at all costs.

I know people who worked for the IRS; like the rest of the federal government its a hotbed for liberals who see conservatives as the enemy.

No, they WILL have time to do that.

The budget reductions were punitive in nature, meant to prevent the IRS from conducting such audits and dissuading them from doing so in the future.

The IRS has, rather than opting for contriteness has gone the retaliation route and chosen to apply the reductions elsewhere, to areas where they’ll cause the public the most visible pain.

Which is exactly the same tactic used during the 2013 Govt shutdown, if people will recall.
