The number of Americans filing new claims for unemployment benefits last week increased to the highest level since early September, but the underlying trend continued to point to a strengthening labor market.

Initial claims for state unemployment benefits rose by 19,000 to a seasonally adjusted 316,000 for the week ended Jan. 10, the Labor Department said on Thursday.

First time since October this number went above 300,000.

Maybe the retailers let go of a lot of folks after the Thanksgiving-Christmas season...

“Maybe the retailers let go of a lot of folks after the Thanksgiving-Christmas season”

I’ve noticed a pattern of small businesses closing their doors after Christmas, for the last few years. Not just letting temps go...but entire businesses are folding their tents.

This is not a good economy.

King Barack has a new plan to reduce jobless rates and unemployment claims.

He wants to put unemployed “YOOTS” in community colleges for “free”.

Once they are classified as students they will no longer be considered unemployed or looking for work.

At least at a community college, there is a chance an employable skill will be picked up.

How can you doubt these numbers?

Don't you know they're coming from the MOST TRANSPARENT administration in our country's history?
