VILNIUS (Reuters) - Lithuania is publishing a manual to advise its citizens on how to survive a war on its soil as concerns grow that Russia's intervention in Ukraine heralds increased assertiveness in its tiny Baltic neighbors.
"Keep a sound mind, don't panic and don't lose clear thinking," the manual explains. "Gunshots just outside your window are not the end of the world."
The manual, which the Defence Ministry will send to libraries next week and also distribute at army events, says Lithuanians should resist foreign occupation with demonstrations and strikes, "or at least doing your job worse than usual".

I hope the Lithuanians still remember how to do it. Legally, and without firing a shot (although the Russians fired back). I’m sure those bloody Communists are still pissed about it to this day.
A God of man.
They need to arm everyone so they can inflict as much damage to invading troops as possible.
Agree.
Putin and the putinistas never got over the collapse of the Soviet Union.
The article says Lithuania “sought” NATO membership. It IS a NATO member. Why would they phrase it that way?
I don’t know. Ignorance? They could have looked it up.
Sadly having a gun isn’t the solution. Few given the chance will fight for their freedom. Having the right stuff inside is more important.
How about distributing an assault rifle to every citizen with a clean police record?
Lots of anti-tank rockets too.
What I wonder is why there is no strategy to bring any attack on their country to the Moscow subway? To the neighborhood where Putin’s daughter lives? Why should Putin decide to make the fight in their backyard - if he does, bring it to his backyard.
Having the right stuff and no firearm sucks
I think you’re right, and they need teams ready to plant anti tank mines and bombs quickly. The main thing they need to do is kill as many Russians as possible if Russia invades them.
My train of thought is that if Russia does, in fact, invade them; they should bring it to Moscow.
Germans supported Hitler up until the bombs started dropping through their ceilings. As long as Putin's mischief blows up buses in the Ukraine or Georgia, the person on the street in Moscow thinks he's just great.
Once their street gets blown up, their home, their bus, their subway station; they might not fancy his violent ways any more.
I agree. Let them feel the wrath. Yesterday Putin’s proxies killed eleven civilians on a bus. Yet the benighted Russian chauvinist approve of him using violence in an undeclared war against a peaceful neighbor. They should feel the same violence they sow.
