...Nobody can answer why. ..." I think Ann Coulter just did with her "...If the government hiked college loans and subsidies by $1 million per student, colleges would promptly raise tuition to: [current tuition] plus $1 million..." quote...

US universities are mostly a joke. Meanwhile, other countries take education seriously and are beating the hell out of the USA.

The current 'community organizer'-in-chief demonstrates how much damage can be done by 'educating'/manipulating/brainwashing each generation of voters when fellow - well paid community organizers/educators/brainwashers - are, as Coulter stated:
"... teaching gender studies, ethnic studies, moral equivalence and hatred of America. Did the Japanese Really Start World War II or Did We?"
Do you honestly believe Obama would have been elected, not once, but twice without these invented institutionalized propaganda 'grievance industry' diplomas/degrees?

I gather from Obama's "free" community college proposal that his plan for dealing with the Republican Congress over the next two years is to throw out ridiculously expensive ideas no one has ever heard of before, and then denounce Republicans for being naysayers. This argument is yet another manifestation of "If you vote for me I will give you free ice cream."
Works every time in grade school. Has our population been dumbed down enough for this to continue to work?

"As Ive said before; I miss the Military-Industrial Complex. The Academic-Media Complex is killing us! From the same Eisenhower speech, but, oddly, hardly ever quoted:
"In the same fashion, the free university, historically the fountainhead of free ideas and scientific discovery, has experienced a revolution in the conduct of research. Partly because of the huge costs involved, a government contract becomes virtually a substitute for intellectual curiosity. For every old blackboard there are now hundreds of new electronic computers.
The prospect of domination of the nation's scholars by Federal employment, project allocations, and the power of money is ever present and is gravely to be regarded."

I liked the idea of free college, BUT I MEAN REALLY FREE. Nobody pays them anything. See how far that gets with the democrats and MSM. Boehner could come out (if he had the balls) and say, I agree with zero, let's make it free, they give the student an education for free, nobody including the taxpayer pays. I believe the same empty heads who the media interviewed saying it was a good idea when zero proposed it will still say the same thing. Parents will agree. But let's see how many administrators and zero's fellow travelers still agree.
While we're at it, I want my free auto - same conditions, let's hear GM and the rest of the auto makers jump on THAT bandwagon.

University of Michigan offers their new football coach nearly $50 million. Lot of money. However, little reported factoid was they also are giving him unlimited use of U of M president's private jet.
Let me repeat that...University president's private jet.
Private jets cost $3 million to $90 million bucks and depending on size between $700,000 to $4 million per year to operate.

I was told by my state representative that part of the student’s tuition goes into the states general fund. Much of that fund pays for healthcare for illegal aliens.

Only an idiot would think "students" who don't take advantage of public schools, are going to take advantage of 2 more "free" years,
Families with food stamps should have to pay stamps to school cafeterias!...but they get more "free" food!
