Parent outraged over possible pentagram symbol on Mid-South bus

At least one Mid-South parent is concerned about what she says is a satanic symbol on a school bus.

Robyn Wilkins snapped a photo when she noticed the shape of an upside down, five-pointed star outlined in the brake lights of a school bus that was stopped in Cordova.

It is careless of the bus company to have such a pattern. If people want them on their own cars, fine. But not a school bus.

The bus company didn't put the pattern on the bus. The automotive light manufacturer who supplied the lights to the bus manufacturer did. I seriously doubt the light company had anything in mind more nefarious than visibility. Looks like they succeeded.

the refractions of light through ribbed molded plastic would likely create a number ot geometric patterns..but I seriously doubt that anything “appearing” to be a pentagram” would have been intentional. Id suggest she might want to consider taking a B Vitamin Supplement.. the ohotograph is so low resolution as to be useless

Given that the lights are offensive, what is the harm of flipping them over? They would still work just as well, and nobody would have a problem.

Now, if the bus manufacturer designed them that way intentionally, I guess you could argue that there is a freedom of expression issue, here. But it looks like they were offensive by accident.

Just fix it, and move on. What’s the big deal?

I know, you just gotta love insulting people of faith. When it is something that matters to you, I hope you maintain your sense of humor. But I suspect you will not.

It was a stupid careless mistake to put these lights on school buses. Sometimes stupid careless mistakes have to be corrected. So fix it and move on.

OK, smart guy, how many buses? How many lights? How long to "repair" them, by how many mechanics, at what wage?

It was a stupid careless mistake to put these lights on school buses.

And you know this how? Is every bus company supposed to have a folklore textbook in their show office that explains the religious connotations of every possible abstract symbol that might accidentally occur on a piece of their hardware and possibly cause random drivers to start screaming "SAAAAAAATAAAAAAN!!!!!" all over the road? Sheesh.
