Corretta Scott King, wife of the slain civil rights leader, warned way back in 1991 that illegal immigration would rob jobs from poor blacks and Hispanics, echoing a new anti-immigration reform ad on national TV.

America does not have a labor shortage. With roughly 7 million people unemployed, and double that number discouraged from seeking work, the removal of employer sanctions threatens to add additional U.S. workers to the rolls of the unemployed.

Let them fight each other spontaneously. Only serious fighting among the Third World peoples will save us.

If the urban young black male subculture will not work, then the illegal aliens have not and can not take their jobs

The defeatist attitude here is disappointing. Union leaders, except the Teamsters were against Reagan but he got a majority of the union vote. Bush owes his second term to black Christians in Ohio after Rove sent campaign people into black churches in Ohio pointing out that Bush was against abortion and gay marriage. Bush’s increased black vote in Ohio was greater than his total net vote increase over his previous election.

It’s smart to reach out to groups who should be on your side on specific issues.

Allowing the outrage at Ferguson and other riots to happen kept the black underclass busy and oblivious while new invaders took their jobs. Their leaders don't seem to care.

The appropriate protests would've been for jobs held by non-citizens, not about police mostly doing their best to save them from themselves.

JMHO

Agreed, but we had no one even trying to make that point.

Our side just throws up our hands and gives up.

If Bush did better with blacks and hispanics than the average Republican, it’s more on account of Bush’s policies being to the Left of most Republicans on most issues. The GOP strategy for winning over minorities inevitably involves moving to the left and pandering, be it support for amnesty under another name when pandering to Hispanics or affirmative action under another name when pandering to blacks. That’s not a worthwhile direction to follow

I wondered the same thing - what the heck are ‘ black jobs ‘?

Will she provide a list of said jobs or give examples?

Roves people who went to the Ohio black churches focused on moral issues not affirmative action.

The NRA doesn’t push affirmative action but reaches out to blacks and has increased black membership.

Making your case to people who should be on your side on an issue is not pandering.

It's long past time to enlist blacks in the fight against amnesty for illegal aliens and against importing more cheap labor.

They were onboard and visibly angry about Obama using closed public schools in black communities to house the Central American waifs he encouraged to come to this country.

President Obama successfully used Ferguson to distract the black community and focus their rage away from the White House.

This was all during the build up to passing NAFTA and GATT.

Mrs. King was right and Heritage and other 'free trade' groups were wrong.

The North American Free Trade Agreement: Ronald Reagan's Vision Realized

'...The NAFTA also will offer Americans cheaper goods, and increase U.S. exports by making them more affordable for the rest of the world. Moreover, it will create an estimated 200,000 new jobs for Americans, reduce illegal immigration from Mexico, help tackle drug trafficking, strengthen Mexican democracy and human rights, and serve as a model for the rest of the world.'

“Black jobs” are Affirmative Action jobs that go to less qualified black applicants over more qualified whites.

“Black jobs” are often make-work jobs funded by tax payers to have something other than Welfare to rely on.

You defined who gets certain jobs, but what actual jobs are these? That’s what I wanted to know.

Civil Service jobs are a good example. Even private sector employers are coerced into hiring a disproportionate number of blacks so that state and federal guidelines (laws) are being met.

I’m reminded of Ferguson. WHY was the majority of officers white? In a black majority suburb?

Because blacks didn’t have to take that offer. By the color of their skin, they were entitled to a better paying job in a better, safer suburb. Even to the extent they were less qualified than a white applicant.

THAT is a “black job”.
