Shortages are nothing new in Venezuela. Indeed, a shortage of toilet paper has been the subject of global amusement for quite some time. But recently, the shortages have become much worse. Last week, a government official was jeered for saying that long lines indicated that “Venezuela has plenty of food”, when rows and rows of empty shelves in stores were telling a different story. Bloomberg reports that people are queueing overnight for necessities such as soap, milk and diapers. This is very dangerous. Venezuela is already one of the most violent societies on earth. And when shortages start to affect little children, people get angry.

net time you go visit, when she isn’t looking box up and seal some things and put them under the bed, then, if something does happen she’s got stuff you could tell her about, or even give her a sealed envelope that she should open ONLY if something happens. Venezuelans, aided and abetted by Jimmeh Cahtuh, chose socialism/communism. Recall that it was crooked election, supervised by Carter, that put Chavez in power.
And when the inevitable coup takes place, or the revolution begins, President Zero will be offering his support to the dictatorial regime.

That’s a really great idea. I can fill it full of 100 calorie bags of popcorn and orange soda (that’s all she eats - crazy) but those things would last for several years. We sleep in the extra bedroom and she never goes in there, I could put under the bed and she’d never know.
Just kidding about the popcorn and drinks - I think if she was hungry enough she would eat whatever I had provided.
