IMO, the entrepreneurs are sitting tight until there is more certainty in the regulatory environment. Why would you risk a venture when you can’t even figure out how much Healthcare will cost you? What new EPA regulation might come down the pike and wreck your business. Etc.
Just this week Obama started attacking the last frontier - the internet.

Well...Obama and the press said the economy is roaring.
What's the problem? All is well...

When I posted something like this just a bit back I was told by a number of FReepers that I must not get out much that there was plenty jobs, cars and truck are selling like hot cakes, restaurants are full, flights are full, highways full of traffic, so I can only conclude that Mr. Clifton must not get out much either.

I hope this guy doesn’t fly commercial. The Obama Administration likely already has him on the watchlist for unbelievers.

I think there are other factors at work. Since my first job in high school I have worked for five different employers (all private sector). Three of them “died” while I was working there. One closed when the owner retired, and the other two were acquired by other firms. Only the last of the three (an acquisition) had anything to do with the state of the economy, and that was only partially driven by financial circumstances.

Bloomberg said this morning there are 5 million unfilled jobs out there. I wonder if they pay above welfare or if folks are just not willing to sacrifice/move/whatever to stay employed.

The picture will fix that, just stare into their eyes and you will feel all your doubts just drain away.

Why try?
Success is punished.
Failure is rewarded.
Dope is legal.

Look who is BUYING the cars. Largely credit criminals using extreme sub-prime financing backed by printed liquidity money (See Ally Bank, which used to be GMAC).
Trucks are selling because the fleet is the oldest it has ever been, and if you want to stay in business, you need reliable trucks.
Flights are “Full” because there are far fewer seats available today, than there were ten years ago.
ALL OF IT is being fueled by cheap money and cheap credit, not economic growth, while average wages continue to fall.
