French Muslims feel deeply torn by viral ‘I am Charlie’ slogan
NY Times ^ | January 13, 2015 | Anthony Faiola

Rather than fall quiet as requested during a national minute of silence last week, three boys in Hamid Abdelaali’s high school class in this heavily Muslim suburb of Paris staged an informal protest, speaking loudly through all 60 seconds.

In one school in Normandy, some Muslim students yelled “God is great!” in Arabic during that same moment. In a Paris middle school, another group of young Muslims politely asked not to respect the minute, arguing to their teacher, “You reap what you sow.”

Abdelaali, a 17-year-old high school senior who did observe the quiet minute, said he did so only because he was outraged by the killings in the name of his religion that were carried out But he also said he feels disgusted by a newspaper whose provocative cartoons had used the image of the prophet Muhammad for satire — and which continued to do so in its tragicomic first edition hitting newsstands Wednesday morning. “I know some kids who agreed with the attack,” he said. “I did not, but I also cannot say that I support what Charlie Hebdo is doing.”

Within France’s Muslim community of some 5 million — the largest in Europe — many are viewing the tragedy in starkly different terms from their non-Muslim compatriots. They feel deeply torn by the now-viral slogan “I am Charlie,” arguing that no, they are not Charlie at all.

Many of France’s Muslims — like Abdelaali — abhor the violence that struck the country last week. But they are also revolted by the notion that they should defend the paper. By putting the publication on a pedestal, they insist, the French are once again sidelining the Muslim community, feeding into a general sense of discrimination that, they argue, helped create the conditions for radicalization in the first place.

They become bolder as their numbers increase...otherwise they are usually cowards if they have to stand alone. They will always segregate themselves in the country host they settle in.

They also become bolder as they realize that their new hosts will not do a damn thing to stop them.

....”They also become bolder as they realize that their new hosts will not do a damn thing to stop them”...

To our credit sometimes they are not stopped so we can discover who all is involved....often the on-line accounts reveal more than they imagine for they have limited ability to control their emotions so it spills out once one of our guys (working on-line incognito) uses his skill to ease that out of them. There will come a time where' we'll go ofter them more than we see under Obama.....

Moslems cannot or will not grasp the concept of free speech, and the concept that it applies equally to all and that all faiths and individuals can be criticized, and even made fun of.

Just an irrational victim mentality, or entitlement mentality, that they wrap themselves and their religion in and use to try and silence others who do not share their religion.

Leave it to the so-called “educated” Moslems (of France) to totally ignore or not understand the difference between supporting “Free Speech, even if it offensive” and the right to NOT SUPPORT the medium that said/printed something offensive.

It is a question of supporting a “right” for all, not just for some. I find parts of the Quran extremely offensive to me and violence provocative too (since I’m Jewish and the Quran says to kill the Jews no matter where they hide).

Now, do I have the right to kill Moslems who spout or teach this Quran’s sanctioning of killing a group of people just because of their religion?

I wonder what these future Jihadists would say to that? And leave it to the Wash. Post and/or NY Times not to question their pathological mental state.

Recently I did further study of Churchill before and after the war so some of his quotes are still fresh in my mind. One thing about him is he was good at calling things as they were. And that is what we need in the Whitehouse....one who can see and be decisive.

They are aware of the tolerance and freedom the West affords them and they very much do not like it.

Re your question as to whether the Moslem students have any idea the tolerance and freedom the West affords them.

This is perhaps one of the most important questions to ask about Islam and its supporters. Even if the West “teaches” Moslem students about “tolerance”, their religion, as taught by extremist/fundamentalist cleric, teaches them to ignore this “western” concept for the Islamic precepts of violence and intolerance against the “infidels”.

In the end, Europe will always have a very hostile and potentially large jihadist contingent, often right in French schools and mosques.

What is to be done? That is the million lives question.

I have no printable answers.

I wonder why they are discriminated against. Could it be their taking sides with vicious and cowardly murderers against Charlie? Do you think?

“You go to a nightclub, and they don’t let you in,” said Binakdan, a transit worker in Paris. “You go to a party, they look at your beard, and say, ‘Oh, when are you going to Syria to join the jihad?’

Another round of “you insult me by saying I’m violent because I’m Muslim, and therefore I or my coreligionists are entitled to kill you and will do so.”

They all need to grow up. And until they do, we need to be prepared to do what’s necessary to defend ourselves from them.

They need to be returned to the lands of their forefathers — there is no other viable solution other than blood spilled, and no-one wants that.

Here’s a bit more you might find as interesting...he got it that’s for sure.

WINSTON CHURCHILL ON MUSLIMS..

“How dreadful are the curses which Mohammedanism lays on its votaries! Besides the fanatical frenzy, which is as dangerous in a man as hydrophobia in a dog, there is this fearful fatalistic apathy. The effects are apparent in many countries, improvident habits, slovenly systems of agriculture, sluggish methods of commerce and insecurity of property exist wherever the followers of the Prophet rule or live.

A degraded sensualism deprives this life of its grace and refinement, the next of its dignity and sanctity. The fact that in Mohammedan law every woman must belong to some man as his absolute property, either as a child, a wife, or a concubine, must delay the final extinction of slavery until the faith of Islam has ceased to be a great power among men.

Individual Moslems may show splendid qualities, but the influence of the religion paralyzes the social development of those who follow it. No stronger retrograde force exists in the world. Far from being moribund, Mohammedanism is a militant and proselytizing faith.

It has already spread throughout Central Africa, raising fearless warriors at every step, and were it not that Christianity is sheltered in the strong arms of science, the science against which it (Islam) has vainly struggled, the civilization of modern Europe might fall, as fell the civilization of ancient Rome.”...... Winston Churchill
