Nixon ran for a 3rd time after swearing he was done after losing to JFK. Then came LBJ and the tumultuous times of Vietnam and the Great Society with all it’s riots and bombings.

IMHO saying Romney can’t win is whistling past the graveyard. He can most certainly win and he has the bragging rights of being able to say “I told you so” in 2012.

Will he win though, I don’t know. If the GOPe keeps trying to bulldoze and run roughshod over the conservative end of the party they just might split off and run a 3rd party spoiler. (somebody please tell me what that means .. I know it’s another name for Rino but seem to have missed the memo on GOPe)

The major problem is that he was supposed to be the placeholder for the Bush Dynasty. They won't like it if he doesn't step aside.

Nixon ran for a 3rd time after swearing he was done after losing to JFK.

What third time, aside from becoming president on his 2nd try, and being reelected president on his 3rd run?

All these comparisons with the failed 1 term governor Romney, who left that single term with 34% approval and having to reject reelection, are absurd.

Romney has been running since 1993 and has even been a presidential nominee, yet he has only won a single election in his entire life.

Nixon returned from WWII and was elected to the Congress in 1946, reelected, then elected to the Senate, and then twice serving as veep, he was not Romney, he was a proven politician, with a real presence in republican politics.

Romney is a mystery, how has he become such a major figure in republican politics, or in politics at all?
