Seems he must have had other problems leading up to this. I find it hard to believe he killed himself because he saw some bad stuff.

One incompetent, ineffective bureaucrat out of the way.

I'm thinking because he felt responsible for their protection, and he utterly failed.

Wish Bratton and De Blasio would follow the example.

It does seem odd.

We had an officer commit suicide not long ago. It was a young officer called to the scene of that horrific incident a few years back where a man went berserk on a bus and decapitated a young guy, for no reason at all. The officer was on the scene for awhile as the evil man walked up and down the aisle of the bus holding up the victim’s head.

I guess the image would not leave him, poor guy. I felt such sadness - he just couldn’t find peace after that.

I am confused. Limoges is a city far from Paris. Is there an area of
Paris called Limoges? I googled it but it did not show an area of Paris called Limoges.

“The officer was on the scene for awhile as the evil man walked up and down the aisle of the bus holding up the victim’s head.”

The perp was Chinese or some other Asian ethnicity, wasn’t he?

Perhaps he blamed himself in some way. Perhaps there was some prior intelligence warning which he did not act upon? Or maybe he was just depressed.

Maybe he was the one who made the decision six months earlier to stop increased security for Charlie Hebdo.

Someone did and they probably aren’t feeling too good right now.

Yes. They decided he was mentally ill (no kidding) and there wasn’t much in the news after that. Oh, except that he’s out now, running free, as I don’t think he ever went to jail, what with being ill and all.
