As Mr. Goodman knows, all of these workers can sign up for state Medicaid. Which is also very attractive from the employer’s viewpoint. No monthly premiums, low co-payments and no deductibles

The folks he profiles can’t afford even the cheapest bronze plans which don’t offer subsidies and the more expensive silver plans which do - have higher monthly premiums the subsidies don’t come close to covering the full cost of. Which defeats the entire premise of shopping for a private Obamacare plan that doesn’t really cover you and your family when you do need it.

Again, Medicaid or stay uninsured. The ACA has screwed up the American health care system and its unintended consequences are only beginning to make themselves felt for years to come.

Medicaid is not insurance. It is access to healthcare and takes all your assets. So people who are forced on Medicaid because Obama removed all the insurance options will lose all their assets.
