Rick Santorum sharply criticized a group of potential rivals for the Republican presidential nomination in an interview that indicated he intends to reclaim conservative primary voters ahead of another White House bid in 2016.
Mr. Santorum, the runner-up to the Republican nominee, Mitt Romney, in 2012, took direct aim Friday at Mike Huckabee, Senator Rand Paul and Senator Ted Cruz, each of whom could offer the partys right wing a fresh alternative to Mr. Santorum in conservative states with early primaries or caucuses.
Discussing Mr. Huckabee, the former Arkansas governor and winner of the 2008 Iowa caucuses, Mr. Santorum raised four policy issues that he said would prompt questions about Mr. Huckabees fealty to conservative principles. Mr. Santorum was even harsher when discussing Mr. Paul of Kentucky and Mr. Cruz of Texas, both first-term senators, dismissing them as bomb throwers with scant achievements.

Just no. Go away. Enough!
Rick, please, take your sweater vest and go back to whatever it is you do between election cycles... I have nothing against you personally, but please, you lost your seat by an unheard of margin, I know your schtick plays better with folks who don’t know you as well as your previously direct constituents do, but please, let everyone move on.
Go away Flanders.
Santorum — don't go away mad. Just go away.
Exactly how much did you win you last Senatorial election by? Bwahahaha
Don’t go away mad, just go away. Please take Willard and Shuckleberry with you.
Looks like the “Bomb Thrower” is Santorum. Severe self-awareness fail.
BTTT
Groan! Ummm... Rick old buddy... give it a rest.
Somebody please tell Howdy Doody he cannot win.
Rick, here’s a hint:
The NYT is fighting your battle for you.
Have they ever supported a conservative they didn’t fully expect to lose?!?!?!?
Not popular around here, I know, but I supported him in 2012. No regrets. I would gladly support him in 2016 if he is the nominee. I haven’t settled on a top choice yet. I also have Cruz, Palin, Jindal, and Pence on my radar. But I want a solid social conservative. You may not like him, but Santorum has walked the walk. Social conservatives recognize this. He has taken the arrows. I won’t bad mouth him here.
Rick:
Go away.
Cruz speaking the truth is not ‘bomb throwing’.
Please Mr. Rogers go spout your coexist crap somewhere else, we are in a fight for our republic.
Rick is there to throw bombs for the GOPe....
Not good form. Doesn’t make Santorum look very presidential.
Oh, please. Of all those named, only Ted Cruz might be a fresh alternative, The rest, including Santorum are big government advocates who merely pretend to be conservative/libertarianish.
After Cain dropped out, I supported Santorum. Compared to Romney, Santorum is William F. Buckley.
And I won’t bad mouth him either.
Can you explain why he was always dedicated to getting and keeping the radical pro-abortionist Arlen Specter front and center in office, and campaigned for him when he ran for president on a platform to end the GOP as a pro-life party?
Why was Santorum, who switched to pro-life to run for political office, who married a live in girlfriend of an abortion doctor, who mocked Reagan supporters, so dedicated to Specter, until finally, Specter had to switch to the democrat party in 2009 to end that support and refund Santorum’s money contributed for his 2010 Senate run, why did Specter?
Santorum was not only booted from office by 17.4% in an astounding wipeout for anyone, especially the incumbent, but something is not right with the man, behind his facade.
