It was a sturdy, gray, plain mailbox with a cubby hole for the
newspaper. It wasn't cheap, and it was quite substantial.

Bryan has purchased the exact same box, and he is planning
to theft proof the thing. He got it at Wal★Mart, $16 cheaper
than Amazon, and free shipping.

What a nuisance and such an upsetting incident. I’m upset this morning, too waiting on a plumber. Another pipe has burst, and I’ve already had two neighbors tell me water is leaking into the street. Well, it’s also leaking throughout my house, too.

I so want out of here.

the police will do and the post office, neither of which will prolly do much of anything, but it is part of the USPS system and as such i believe is a federal crime

I don’t really know much about it. In California 100 years ago, Bryan and I had a neighbor who was having a war with some teenagers who kept destroying his mailbox.

He shored it up with concrete and bricks, but they kept knocking it down. Finally, it was so massive that the little *snots* gave up.

I sure hope we don’t have to go through anything like that.

now days you get a small video setup and catch them doing it on video and turn it over to the law... i hope it was a oneoff event

Actually, this may be a chance to get one of those 1911-shaped mail boxes. I doubt
anyone could steal it. I’ve wanted one since the first time I saw it here on FR.

When the state repaved Hwy 1 in front of my house, federal money involved, they knocked down everybody's mailbox and replaced them with little plastic ones and a piece of thin 1 1/2 inch pipe.
The mailboxes leak, the pipe only goes 2 feet into the ground, reason given is that it won't damage cars that hit them too badly (For safety).
Oh, you can't use cement to hold them in the ground straight.

Now everybody has the same little crappy mailboxes that are always leaning over one way or the other.

I'm still pi$$ed about that, thanks again government :)
