The contours of a Scott Walker presidential bid continued to take shape Thursday with the second-term Republican governor confirming the hiring of a national political campaign adviser, the announcement of his upcoming appearance at a major Iowa political event and his consideration of forming a national fundraising committee.
He also said hes praying about the decision, reiterating that you have to be crazy to want to be president of the United States and that he would decide to run only if he felt called.
Walker told reporters Thursday after addressing the Wisconsin Bankers Association in Madison that his campaigns decision to hire Rick Wiley, a former Republican National Committee political consultant and Wisconsin Republican Party executive director, as a senior adviser came after a flood of national interest in a potential presidential run prompted by his re-election in November.
You want to bring in people who can help you sort out how that would happen if it were to happen, Walker said. We wanted someone who we could trust, who has national experience to figure out, with the people who are reaching out to us, who are legitimate and how to deal with them.
Asked when he would set up a political action committee, as other prospective candidates have done, Walker said he is looking at a number of options.
I dont know if thats exactly what well do, he said. Thats probably in the next few weeks something well talk about.

What is his latest stand on amnesty?
personally i hope he does not. i wish he’d drop this and focus on hard issues in wisconsin.
I’ll vote for him if he is the last Republican standing. Otherwise, I hope Cruz wins!
it hasn’t’changed. hes for it for people who want to come here and work. ie a nice way to say he’s with the Chamber of Commerce position on it.
He would make an excellent Secretary of Labor in President Cruz’s Administration.

Endorses path to citizenship for immigrant workers. (Jul 2013)
Make it easier to enter the country legally. (Jul 2013)
2010: stop suspected illegals; 2012: that’s a distraction. (Jul 2013)
Supports AZ’s immigration law and no benefits for illegals. (Jul 2010)
Does “immigrant worker” mean illegal alien?
And that in a nutshell is what makes me nervous about him. I like what he's done in Wisconsin, but we don't need millions of third-worlders in the country. They need to be repatriated.
RE: Does immigrant worker mean illegal alien?
When interviewed by Larry Kudlow on his radio show, he clarified it to mean allowing Mexicans to legally work the farms in the USA, especially during harvest season on working visas, and then go home.
That reminds me our former Bracero program under Truman and Eisenhower, which was finally killed by the labor unions under the leadership of Cesar Chavez.

who would rather stay home or vote for a democrat...
oops, too late...
I’d rather see Walker endorse Cruz (followed by the rest of the conservatives falling in line behind Cruz), but Walker is probably better than Romney, Christie, Rubio, or the next Bush in line.
Not this election. Much more to be dealt with yet in Wisconsin; Scott Walker is needed here.
This talk bothers the hell out of me.
what boters me is walker hasn’t done anything tough since winning the recall because tat’s when he started trying to reframe his image for a presidential run in 2016. didn’t want to be too controversial and have the unions who lost pour even more resources agaist him.
he needs to forget that and work hard four years as wisconsin’s governor, and get this place much, much better than it currently is. right to work is an easy first start. tort reform is another. getting the mining issue done is another. the new kenosha casino issue needs less pussyfootng and more doing one way or the other. dealing with the dysfunctional gab is another. more reforms on public sector healthcare to match what the average wi citizen pays. making the wisconsin dnr less of a bitch across the board. how about forcing wis dot to stop putting in g-damn roundabouts on every damn freeway offramp they redo? and also changing stupid redo plans for nterchanges based on what the public in that area wants, not some eggheads smoking pot ijn a dot office in madison who never has to drive their awful road changes?
I actually like Walker - probably right after Cruz in the current list. However, seeing some of the known liberals on FR promoting him is a bit disturbing and makes me wonder.
Im for this guy....
