The sad fact of the matter is, big business has been able to buy 90% of the politicians in D.C. It was always bad, but the past 20 years or so, it has gotten much worse.More importantly, American businessmen are not nearly as patriotic as they once were. They are more often than not, amoral, and devoid of ethics.

Businesses want money, politicians want power. It’s a match made in hell. I don’t think things are that different now than 20 years ago, it’s just more obvious thanks to how quickly information moves around now. Remember Ike’s farewell address was “beware the military industrial complex”, the power of business over politicians was already known.
