After a tire blowout on my car, I appreciate why having tightened wheels is so important.
You can stop on the rim as long as the wheel is secure. If it isn’t, its an accident waiting to happen.

My comment from yesterday’s thread;
“Two neighborhood teen punks took off three lug nuts and loosened the two remaining on my passenger side front tires. I confronted their fathers. ones family moved to the sticks, the other punk has been sent to military school.”

The menace also removed the lug nuts from the private vehicles of three cops in Bushwick, officials said.

Vandal loosens, removes lug nuts from cars in Brooklyn NYPD parking area If this does not qualify as "guerilla" war, in a larger war, by whatever name, I don't know what does.
And war rules should apply. The real ones, not Omugabe's Rules of Engagement...

Wouldn’t their car park be secure and monitored?

When they catch the perp, maybe the NYPD will “loosen or remove” his nuts!

Vandal must have got the idea from watching the movie, Porky’s.

Hope they don’t watch American Graffiti. Then they would know about putting a length of aircraft cable between the rear axle and a fixed post.
Ha haa that’s still funny!

Loose lug nuts cause the wheel to make a very distinctive wobbling noise. So usually there is plenty of warning before the wheel falls off.
Happened to me once. It was in Brooklyn too?

[If this does not qualify as “guerrilla” war, in a larger war, by whatever name, I don't know what does.]
It is a war—in New York, Chicago, L.A. and other cities—between the gangs, the anarchists and civil society. The cure would resemble a military model for counterinsurgency warfare. Congress would have to grant local governments the writ to temporarily employ martial law in designated zones, establish special courts, and call on the military for expertise and assistance. I'm not necessarily an advocate for this approach but I believe it will eventually happen.

The overnight lot, yes, but how often are their cars on the street, while they investigate or answer a call? I don’t know a lot about NYPD or NYC parking for them. In a small town like mine, there is no locked parking that I have seen.

Maybe the poor guy needed those Lug Nuts.
He probably couldn’t buy any using his EBT Card.

Most NYC police stations have no large parking lot. They park many squad cars and personal cars on the street in designated areas
