My fear is what you offer in satire will be the actual outcome. If not the French government doing so, then at least these publications themselves will start self-censorship.
Who will now want to print anything “disrespectful” of Islam in a country where it is illegal for private citizens to arm themselves, and criminals by their very nature disregard what has been made illegal?
When bullies can terrorize their victims like this, and the government cannot/will not protect them, and even limits their ability to fight back, then maybe the only sensible thing is to acquiesce to the bullies demands?
Not if you have Steven Segal working on your magazine as a gopher. At least it would make a great action movie.
