Statement on Vote for Speaker Boehner (Scott Perry, R-PA-4)
Office of Congressman Scott Perry ^ | January 6, 2015 | Congressman Scott Perry

Posted on 01/06/2015 11:41:32 AM PST by Timber Rattler

“I’ve emphatically shared my disagreements with House Speaker John Boehner. As one of the leading conservative Members of this body, I opposed the $1.1 trillion omnibus spending bill that did nothing to block President Obama’s unilateral amnesty order, I fought for tougher stances on out-of-control spending, government regulation and ObamaCare, and I refused to vote for a watered down NSA spying bill, amongst myriad other initiatives – most of which unilaterally were ignored by the Democrat-controlled Senate. But the 2014 elections just changed this equation.

This is not a choice about who is the most conservative. It’s a choice about who effectively can lead a broad coalition, including conservative viewpoints, to get our Nation back on track.

We must unite behind our conservative beliefs – not fight with each other. I respect those who disagree with my decision, but instead of demonizing our fellow conservatives or, in some unfortunate cases, questioning my integrity, I urge them to help convince our fellow citizens that our conservative vision of greater freedom and opportunity for all Americans is the key to America’s renewal.”

Bet that 30 pieces of silver Boehner promised him will feel good rolling around in his hands.

I’m sorry, what was that? Did someone say something?

I at least managed to vote majority GOP at the state level in ‘14. At the rate they’re going, I’m going to have a hard time doing even that come ‘16.

Nobody is asking that Boehner be stood before a firing squad or even drummed out of the army. He's simply shown himself to be ineffective in a leadership position and needs to be replaced.

Even Braxton Bragg has the sense to ask to be replaced after the Battle of Chattanooga.

“This is not a choice about who is the most conservative. It’s a choice about who can name me the chairman of the Homeland Security Subcommittee 24 hours before the Speakership vote is held. I might be a whore, but I’m not a cheap whore.”

I have already made my call to my state Rep urging him to run for Phil Roe’s seat in TN-1.

Would have sucked had he merely been reelected, but they gave us the middle finger with their standing O.

Did that when Romney was anointed. Wish more people would stop hoping the party will one day represent us. It won't.

We either need our own party or move to have parties abolished altogether Whatever. The Republican Party has to go.

If I was a liberal in 2015, I’d be laughing and crapping on everyone too. :)

But it only takes 2 weeks to corrupt them.

The faster we realize voting in fresh blood is a waste of time, the faster we can move on to something else to correct the problem.

When has “Cheeto” (I like that name btw ;) ) lead on a conservative view point?

Anyone know?

Most will be re-nominated in 2016, as Republican primary voters don’t know who voted for what and will just ratify a name on the ballot that they can recognize.

Where does one register to vote with a city? In liberal VA, maybe? In most places, it’s with the county.
