President Barack Obama will veto the Keystone XL bill if Congress passes a measure green-lighting the oil pipeline, White House press secretary Josh Earnest announced on Tuesday.

Newly minted Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has scheduled a vote on the Keystone XL pipeline project as the first of the new Congress. The bill has some bipartisan support, but environmentalists and progressives have heavily lobbied the White House to oppose the pipeline....

Earnest added that the White House reviewed the text of the bill to authorize the pipeline on Monday....

This is a complete waste of time

When oil prices are higher in 2016 election cycle, you will see his veto in many campaign ads.

I with you. If I get thrown into the 0bamacare exchange I will not buy it. I will pay the fine. Rather than pay about $4,000 per year for a $6,000 deductible insurance plan (not to mention the narrow choices of doctors) I will set some money aside to pay cash to doctors (even if I have to go to Mexico). If the doctors tells me I need surgery I will buy a platinum plan. They cannot turn me down for pre-existing conditions. After I recover from the surgery I will stop paying the premiums. Pass it on. We don’t have to participate.

It's all about....follow the money....

However, it may just happen that some Dems figure it out that Obama has pretty much ruined their career.

We don’t really need the Keystone Pipeline now.

Yes, we can keep moving more oil by rail. Why not spend more money for greater exposure to accidents?

Must be big campaign cash for the GOP and crony payback for their donors in supporting it.

We know that it isn’t because they give two flips about working, middle-class America.

From what my friend tells me (he works in the oil industry up in Sidney, MT) it sounds like this is killing the wheat farmers. They can’t get access to the rail cars because the oil is taking precedence up there. That’s not so good either.

For both sides. It is why it doesn't get resolved. GOP and DemocRATs both found fighting it to be a cash cow.

I imagine on time delivery to the refineries tends to pay better premiums than sometime this quarter for grain.

Fools. Now that they’ve elected Boehner as Speaker again, Obama will only come to DC to veto stuff they pass. Obama already has everything he wants.

Maybe a billion in wheat subsidies a year isn’t enough.

Warren Buffet has to be almost amortized on his investment in oil rail transport by now. So isn’t it time he got out of the way and shifted some of his investments to pipeline stocks?

Usually when our side takes in the shorts, like always, we get thrown a bone by the establishment. I thought for sure since the socialists have gotten everything they wanted, shAmnesty, a new federal visa card and their suck ass House organ Boner, we would get the door prize: the Keystone Pipeline.

We are not even going to get the consolation prize.

The GOP in the House and Senate will do nothing. They will use the excuse that without the White House, they are powerless.
