One reference I saw says that the NYT is getting ready to do a bigt hit piece on Boehner,so we shall see.
This Meet the Press story on Scalese....I guess they didn’t get the memo.
For all over the Blogosphere the story, as properly vetted, is that Scalese did NOT attend an event by some follower of David Duke. He attended an event scheduled at the same venue but later in the day.
some flack of OBama evidently found this tidbit and sent out the talking points. Chuck Todd took the false football and ran with it.
It didn’t help any that Republicans, with air between their legs....immediately came out and apologized for being around David Duke cause it doesn’t matter if it’s a lie...
THE REPUBLICANS WILL APOLOGIZE.
Especially Scalese....what the hell was he thinking?
Dems ONE, Republicans...ZERO.
I saw that, too, in one of the articles in the links Maggie posted. However, the story is from a few years ago, so unless they’ve still been holding it (as mentioned below)and/or you have a more recent reference, I don’t think it will be a big issue now:

“Insiders on Capitol Hill are buzzing about an upcoming New York Times exposé that will detail an alleged Boehner affair. Sources say the Times is looking for the right time to drop the story in October to sway the election, similar to how the Times reported during the 2008 presidential campaign on an alleged John McCain affair that supposedly had taken place many years before and that was flatly denied by the woman in question.”
