“So let’s stop being afraid, and let’s start building a world that’s safe for everyone’s dreams.”

Yep, forget reality. Utopia for all.

Meanwhile, the leftists on their networks are leading choruses of “Happy Days Are Here Again” with nobody watching them.

People can look around and see the smoldering ruin of our economy. “Happy Days Are Here Again” rhetoric only makes them look like fools.

Right. They're totally disconnected from reality, while our enemies are not.

Educators are too busy telling their students WHAT to THINK, when they should be teaching their students HOW to THINK!

The sad thing is they teach this at the Universities and shove it into the minds of students for four+ years.

Well, once it became clear that their agenda has completely failed in every sense, the left could've gone one of two ways - acceptance of reality or lapse into complete fantasy.

Its obvious what road this clown has chosen.

We fried two of the Rosenbergs for treason back in 1953. Looks like we missed one.

“which helped create the largest middle class in human history”

Actually, WWII did that. The New Deal just prolonged the Great Depression, creating a larger divide between the have and have-nots.

Does this moron get paid by the word? What an insulting idiotic screed. I hope he gets boils.
Paul H. Rosenberg is Senior Editor at Random Lengths News, an alternative bi-weekly newspaper in the Los Angeles Harbour Area. Prior to that, he freelanced primarily as a book reviewer, specialising in serious non-fiction - history, science, culture, politics, public policy, etc. Rosenberg runs the site, Merge Left - a community of progressive thinkers free to submit their own conten.
I noticed that he kept referring back to "open letters" he wrote or mentioning "...during that time, I wrote in my diary..."

The man's a loon who can't get published.

But I think that Dish is under a great deal of customer pressure to get Fox back on. The leftists’ time for celebrating might soon end.

For the past two weeks, my TV has been on NetFlix or football games.

Come Monday, the world gets back to normal and Dish's lines will be burning up.

In short, new frameworks for thinking about politics are needed as well, ones that draw on the traits that define liberals much the same way that threat bias defines conservatives.

Translation: New forms of manipulation are needed for liberals because sky-is-falling "Peak Oil, Club of Rome, Population Bomb, Nuclear Winter, Global Cooling, Global Warming, All Cultures are Equal, Alar, Homophobia, Xenophobia, Sugar as Poison, etc etc etc... are not working...

BUT fears that illegals will drive down wages and increase crime are working for conservatives...

When liberals lie to themselves it's almost like they believe their drivel...

Facts might be fact, actual and true, but their “truth” is anything progressives, leftist and liberals want to believe it is, whether or not the facts support what they believe or not. This way of thinking or should it be called, believing, is found everywhere in their rhetoric and repertoire. Facts that don’t fit their ideals or ideology are unimportant, meaningless and ignored because they need “facts” that support their belief system. To them facts can be manufactured which is why they bend or change facts to fit their belief system rather then looking to facts that are real and true, to figure out what to think.

Roosevelt, the Democrat Party, NY Times et al celebrated the Nazi socialists pre-war.

In the fall of 1941, five minutes before Pearl Harbor, Harvard had the largest Nazi Club on-campus in the United States. I would not have believed it, but something sent me into the stacks one evening in 1969 and my eye fell on some bound original volumes of LIFE Magazine. I picked a couple up and thumbed through them (nobody ever read LIFE; it was "the magazine for people who can't read"), and I found two interesting stories, one about prewar New Deal inflation and the other about Harvard and the Nazis.

You won't read that now.

The more I read along, the more and more it becomes obvious that Rosenberg is arguing around to a conclusion, that liberals and their pet "ism" are more intelligent, better adapted, more widely educated (There's that snob appeal again) than poor, lineal-thinking conservatives, and that ways have to be found to "handle" them, in order to rid "modern" society of the "divisiveness" (democracy?) that is a leftover of the bad old days of adaptive diversity in small groups.

You can hear the pride and the self-consequence oozing off the page.

And you know what? I'll wager that the late Dr. Mengele would agree with him.

Those Socialists.... National and other flavors.... Always so far out ahead of us on the path of human and political evolution. I just can't compete, I think I'm gonna cry! </s>

You're right about the GOP being a members-only cartel of personal self-interest, if you accept that they are tenaciously devoted as well to the Chamber of Commerce agenda.

That said, it would seem that there is room in America for a new party reminiscent of the old Whig slogan that was both warning and promise: "THE GOVERNMENT WILL TAKE CAFE OF ITS OWN INTEREST ONLY. WE WILL TAKE CARE OF THE GOVERNMENT. "

You might have added that the quote about Democrats being in a "defensive crouch" seems to be a joke, as long as Obama keeps on swinging from all directions like a thugpunk administering a street beatdown. He owns the headlines and he is using his phone and his pen to suck all the air out of the room like Slick used to do. It's the same kind of politica, SSDD.

[Article] In short, new frameworks for thinking about politics are needed as well, ones that draw on the traits that define liberals much the same way that threat bias defines conservatives. One such framework, already mentioned, is openness to new experience. As mentioned before, this includes greater willingness to explore, less fear of others and the unknown, heightened curiosity, and a propensity to innovate.

"Propensity to innovate"? Then why are Progs/Stalinists still working from a hornbook written by a raving misanthrope and life failure like Karl Marx? His book appeared about the time the Paris Commune's horrors taught us something about the practicability of his ideas.

And still they trudge on, and their toll of dead bodies mounts up and up, as they promise to add millions and millions of us to their butcher's bill, for resisting them.
