Here’s the deal, I’ll bet. It’s another gummint funded scam that got started when the Medicare folks recognized sleep apnea as something they could pay for treatment for. Hospitals/clinics nationwide started converting a few rooms to “sleep study labs”. Any kind of sleep complaint now gets one referred to the sleep lab for evaluation. It sounds like Montgomery is a senior citizen. As soon as you show up for that first interview the record keeping starts and they will do their dambdest to find out why you snore, etc. BEWARE THE SLEEP TEST. It’s all downhill from there. In the process of helping my own family get medical help in recent times I notice the medicos have gotten quite creative in how they refer to a particular ailment in the paperwork to make sure they get medicare-paid for fixing it.
The funniest one recently was when a relative was having an ectopic thyroid removed. But it went into the paper pile as Goiter. Nothing goiter about it but it got them paid. And this was before Odumbocare kicked in.
