It’s amazing how greedy some people get, especially when someone dies.

One of my favorite Mother Angelica anecdotes...

Mother A: Hello. What's your question?

Caller: I wanted some advice on how to deal with my sisters.

M: What's the problem?

C: They're fighting... over an estate.

M: Oh.... Are they fighting over money?

C: No....

M: What?

C: Um... They're fighting over... a toilet.

Audience laughs.

M: A what?!

C: A toilet.

More laughter.

M: I thought that's what you said.

C: Well, it's not just a toilet.

M: Oh? (more laughter)

C: It's an inlaid toilet.

Uproarious laughter.

M: Ohhhhhhhhh, an inlaid toilet... (rolls eyes). Why didn't you say so?

More laughter.

C: I know, but...

M: Well, I'll tell you what to do...

C: What Mother?

M: I would tell them to take turns sticking their heads in it.

Audience roars.

That’s hysterical. Back in the 90s my father was failing. He gave a blue bowl which was one of only two things he had from his childhood to my sister in law. At the time she refused to take it. I know that my dad who suffered from Parkenson’s and my mom who was getting pretty wobbly were afraid that it was be dropped and broken. So the next time me and Mr. M came over he gave it to me. He didn’t tell me about giving it away before. When he passed I heard about it. Oh my. We’re friends now but for a while I was definitely the black sheep. I ended up giving my SILs son his choice of the two for a wedding gift. He picked the other one, not the blue bowl. After the wedding he and his bride came over and demanded the blue bowl. Arrrrgggg.
