Problem is, if you stop him you might be arrested or sued.
Quite a long time ago, I was in the local courthouse in the vehicle registration renewal line along with my mom and about ten other people, just standing there waiting and minding my own business (double-checking I had my insurance card, etc.). There was a woman with a little girl of about 7 years in line in front of me. My mom and I started having a conversation that was funny, and we were both enjoying it, and then all of a sudden I felt a very sharp pain and the rebounding throbbing afterward in my right shin! I looked to see what the heck had caused it, thinking maybe one of the waiting line posts had fallen and struck my leg (now those things are all-metal and heavy, so would’ve made quite a BANG). The pain struck AGAIN, but this time I noticed that the little girl...in front of me... was drawing back her leg with all her might, her feet shod in cowboy boots, to kick me FOR THE THIRD TIME...
Locking eyes with her, I gave her the sternest look I could possibly muster. She cowered in front of her mother, ever so often looking to see whether I was still watching her. I was relieved when her mother finished her business and exited with her daughter, and I had a bit of a limp when I approached the desk to pay my renewal fee.
In times before that, my only ‘traumatic’ experiences in registration renewal was forgetting my insurance card...that time, it was definitely one for the books!
:(
Tough love, sure. Beats prison though.
