U.S. Said to Investigate Sheldon Silver, New York Assembly Speaker, Over Pay ('Rat)

Federal authorities are investigating substantial payments made to the State Assembly speaker, Sheldon Silver, by a small law firm that seeks real estate tax reductions for commercial and residential properties in New York City, according to people with knowledge of the matter.

Prosecutors from the United States attorney’s office for the Southern District of New York and agents of the Federal Bureau of Investigation have found that the law firm, Goldberg & Iryami, P.C., has paid Mr. Silver the sums over roughly a decade, but that he did not list that income on his annual financial disclosure forms, as required, the people said.

NY POST 5/12/14 EXCERPT---Not so very long ago, Michael Boxley was chief legal counsel to Assembly Speaker Shelly Silver. That came to a crashing end after he was indicted for felony rape of a legislative staffer and ended up pleading guilty to a lesser charge of sexual misconduct. As for Silver, after listening to the accusation against his man, he issued a statement saying he was innocent.

That waltz around the truth wasn’t the first time around for either Boxley or Silver. The charge Boxley pleaded to came on top of a rape accusation two years earlier by another legislative staffer. In that case, Boxley’s problem went away when Shelly arranged a $507,500 hush-money payment to the accuser.

In most normal cities, rapist Michael Boxley would be reluctant to show his face. But this is corrupt Albany. So Boxley moved off the list of registered sex offenders and onto the list of registered state lobbyists---working for Brown & Weinraub, the seventh-largest lobbying firm in the state. No doubt the firm is counting on rapist Boxley's insider status (no pun intended) as the rapist lobbies his contacts in New York’s Assembly, Senate and governor’s office......and the Speaker.

Investigations had also commenced with sexual-abuse allegation against Assemblyman Vito Lopez, whom Speaker Shelly also protected with $103,000 in secret hush money.

COMMENTS Mmmmmmm.....Shelly loves getting those vicarious sexual thrills.....hearing Boxley and Lopez relating their sexual exploits to the salivating Speaker.

Shelly colluded in these sex-charged activities. Did Shelly help rapist Boxley choose his sexual targets among the naïve young interns? The interns would have a powerful legal case---should they choose to use it.

Taxpayers need to find out why Speaker Shelly seems to have unlimited access to tax-paid hush money--- Why does Shelly have freeaccess to tax-dollars? And why is Shelly able to use tax dollars as hush money?
