Welcome to Montana's new one-stop wonder. The website where residents can apply for Obamacare, food stamps, and housing assistance in one convenient location.
The Montana Department of Public Health & Human Services' recently launched website streamlines the application process for various government assistance programs. The new system allows individuals to enter their information just once to apply for these three programs:
Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) - Formerly Food Stamps
Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) - Cash assistance
Health Coverage Assistance - Medicaid, Healthy Montana Kids, health insurance assistance and tax credits through the federal Health Insurance Marketplace
The website encourages applicants to learn more about each program, but don't try clicking on the Health Coverage Assistance link, it's experiencing a few technical difficulties:
This tweet about sums it up:

If you offer these programs, a one-stop system is the way to do it. Efficiency in government.
not good enough. I want my free Obamaphone and my free transit passes and my free rent vouchers and my free food stamps and my free .......
So guess they’ll be needing a free internet connection and a computer to access the freebie site.
Montana should be solving its population problem real soon now as the word gets out.
add in lottery tickets, credit vouchers for the Indian slots, liquor and tobacco and you pretty much got everything they would need.
Montana, Texas...the left sure has infiltrated.
I'd be quite OK with them getting it, too.
Colorado Peak also offers one stop social service shopping.
They’re designed to make enrollment and renewal as easy and painless as possible.
No more need to fill out paper forms or visit your case worker.
They don’t offer Obamacare but with those on Medicaid, who needs it anyway?

SUCH A DEAL! Now watch the influx of deadbeats to MT. Maybe they’ll leave CA for greener pastures....
How about EBT - where do they go for that?
Here in north GA I have to go up to the DFCS office for a childless aunt who is in a nursing home for her Medicaid. There is always a line of young people in tears that their food stamps didn’t come that month and the answer the woman behind the window always gives them is that they didn’t fill out the form.
I was thinking the same thing. What happened to all the cowboys? Did they all ride off to brokeback mountain?
Wonder if that’s the way they did it in Russia back in the day.
They left out the most important items.
Arctic Parkas, thick gloves and lots of long underwear.
Too damn cold up there for me.
Montana, ranked 44th in US population, with 1,023,579 people. Texas by population comparison is 25 times larger. I’m sure Montana needs every dollar they can muster in order to survive economically.
I don’t know what their major industries are, what income they provide to the state, or what is the median income of the population. But I’m sure any welfare is welcomed and is an additional source of income for it people. Making it easier for them is no crime. If they are qualified it helps the state economically.
I have NOT lived in Montana so what I say is hearsay. I have heard the winters are extremely long and hard. Even the best of preppers are challenged to survive sometimes. If that is the case, why are people moving from more warmer climates to Montana. Surely not for welfare programs or the easy life. Anybody know?
With a population of only 1,024,929 as of 10/19/2014< I don’t think it has to worry about its population problem, provided you meant over population
Moving to Montana appeals to me. Won’t do it, but I understand why people want to live in wide open spaces with clean air, gorgeous scenery, lakes and rivers full of fish, hunting season to fill your freezer.
I vacationed with a friend at a relative’s house at Flathead Lake. Beautiful, serene, you just had to watch out for bears in the yard. I did see a pregnant female bear in the driveway, but she was more afraid of me than I was of her. We were urged to carry a whistle, blow it before going out into the yard. System works.
Gonna be a dental floss tycoon.
Any kind of tycoon would be swell .but I don’t understand your dental floss reference. What am I missing here?
Frank Zappa reference.
