IMO, he’d make a good 007, but Bond should just be dead, now. Or at least passing the torch. (I had NO problem with Avery Brooks as Sisko in Deep Space 9 — I thought he did a very good job with the character, overall, even if the show itself was somewhat a rip-off of the better Babylon 5. But the writers did not try to make Sisko into Kirk, thank heavens. Sisko I could / would trust around my daughter!!!)

I liked Sisko too. I thought DS9 was just a boring show overall.

The Bond universe is much smaller than ST, and would make no sense without him. Bond passed the torch to Bourne, Ethan Hunt, Indiana Jones, and a host of others. However, he's still relevant because of the women, gadgets, cars, and guns. It has nothing to do with his race.

I will admit I don’t keep up with actors. About the only two I can come up with off hand are Harrison Ford and The guy who played Achilles in “Troy”.

He races cars? That puts him up a bit in my book but what else has he done but act. Has he won any well name races?

I would be willing to say he's more manly than any current mainstream American actor. I wouldn't count Harrison Ford as he's 75 years old and part of a different generation.

I'd say he's manlier than Brad Pitt. Pitt is a good actor but he looked like a 12 year old in Thelma & Louise.

My guess is that James Golden, {a.k.a.,} under the pseudonym "Bo Snerdley," is a lot MORE conservative than Rush, having heard him when he had his own talk radio show. Rush was quite the man for taking him back when he couldn't get enough radio stations to carry his James Golden, {a.k.a., Bo Snerdley} show.

You see no difference between Capt Kirk and Pickard and that awful Janeway? Goodness. Besides, they were each different captains with different NAMES and commanding different ships. There were totally different characters. They shared nothing but a ship name.

If you change the character and the man, he is no longer Bond.

To use your example, make a new cpatain [agent] if you want to, make him/her/it any color or sex, or both, have at it. It's not Capt Kirk [James Bond].

You can call a disabled, transgendered ethnic hodgepodge something “James Bond” but that doesn't make that monstrosity James Bond.

Neither Nelson Mandela or Barack Obama are fictional characters. If James Bond was white and Scottish, period, then nobody has played him that way. Even Sean Connery kept his Scottish accent in check.
