The number of Americans filing new claims for unemployment benefits unexpectedly fell last week, underscoring the economy's sustained strength.

Initial claims for state unemployment benefits dropped 9,000 to a seasonally adjusted 280,000 for the week ended Dec. 20, the Labor Department said on Wednesday. It was the lowest reading since Nov. 1 and marked the fourth straight week of declines.

"The labor market is tightening up. Any job losses are just normal frictional unemployment in a healthy growing economy," said Chris Rupkey, chief financial economist at MUFG Union Bank in New York.

Oh goodie, goody, Routers got to drag out it’s famous U word.

Perhaps the low number for new claims is because even more folks quit looking for a job.

“Seasonally adjusted” means they are lying. If jobless claims were actually 300k there is no “seasonally adjusting” that number. It is what it is. They can say that it would normally be higher or lower in the month of x than 300k but the number is the number. Saying that 300k is 280k is simply lying.

Since more than 100% of job growth since the Obamanation got in office has gone to foreign nationals and less Americans have jobs than when he took the reigns, the job numbers based on Americans reporting job losses will naturally continue to go down. Eventually no Americans will report job losses, because no Americans will have jobs.

We have suffered a Coup over our once free nation, and our sovereignty is slated to be destroyed for the New World Order vision of a one world government.

Satan will have his way in his last days, all the better to show how stupid he and his followers are. They will have their utopia, and fully deserve the hell it brings.

New claims. Not “quit looking.” Apples and oranges.
