had one right here in Rochester NY - great looking mall - great stores - the hood rats showed up and it promptly closed in a couple years - sits empty today
Well, that was well orchestrated, now wasn’t it?
We, obviously, live in Ozaukee, so it is a good place. I avoid Milwaukee, for the most part.
I posted on another thread that Mall of America is far too accessible by mass transit; here in NJ that is the kiss of death for a mall. The whole idea of a mall was that people didn’t have to shop in the urban downtown areas anymore (to avoid obvious problems); facilitating the access of those same problems to suburban malls isn’t a good idea.
Soon malls will have pawn shops and such...
Excellent point.
And it used to be called Northridge! I used to shop there often. They tried to revive it as Granville Station, but it didn’t get off the ground.
I loved that mall and shopped there frequently until the very end. It died with a whimper with only Boston Store still operating. When their lease ran out, the whole thing closed.
I’m sure you still remember Gimbels-Schusters? Used to shop there when I was a kid with my Grandma, and then - AMAZINGLY - when we moved to Madistan, there was one ON THE CAPITOL SQUARE.
I miss America. Really, I do. You’d NEVER even SEE this kind of idiocy on display ‘back in the day.’
And I’m not even that old! Grrrrrrr!
Thanks; when we had the carjacking murder at the Short Hills mall here in NJ last December, the perps had to use one of their mother’s cars to get there. The mall is pretty exclusive, and they weren’t going to have hoodrats messing with the shoppers...
