Do not fall for this. This is a man who hears the footsteps and smells the smoke from the lynch mob’s torches. The “dumbest idea” quote more accurately reflects the mind-set of our senior senator.

The ONLY reason he voted with Cruz is because he is coming up for relection! Normally he is lockstep with mccain & graham. He votes with Hagan more often than not. I’ll not vote for him again!
ha. Cruz, Lee and Sessions have the “i’m next up for election in the GOP” faction of the republocrat party solidly behind them.
He was one of the ones who were closer to supporting the amnesty bill like Roger Wicker and a few others.
