A new review of the Secret Service has found that the agency's problems run deeper than White House fence-jumpers. The protective service, an independent panel reported on Thursday, could use more and better-trained officers, better technology, and, most important, leadership that is not Julia Pierson.
But the fence, the one scaled by a mentally ill Iraq war veteran in September, still matters, and it can't stay as is. The panel, which was composed of four former administration officials—two who served under Obama, two under the latest Bush—"believes strongly that the fence around the White House needs to be changed as soon as possible to provide better protection." So, what should the new-and-improved fence guarding the seat of executive power look like?

For sure, the fence must be taller; even an increase of four or five feet would be materially helpful.
It should also be impossible to climb:
Horizontal bars, where climbers can easily place feet or hands, should be eliminated or placed where they provide little assistance. The top of the fence can also be manipulated in certain ways—such as including curvature outward at the top of the fence—to make scaling it much more difficult for most.

Unfortunately, there is no hope whatsoever such a tall fence has any chance of keeping the illegal immigrant inside the fence.
Perhaps they can get the contractor to finish the fence on the southern border at the same time.
They refuse to build the border fence but build it high in DC. Total hypocrites.
Is this a prototype for our southern border?
We need to use the construction of this fence as lever to get something done about really securing the border. We need some good ideas on what to call this new fence..and what actions could be taken to remind people that our border is not secure. Maybe photo shop the single strand of barbed wire that is the border fence in S. Arizona onto a picture of the WH.

Leave the fence, just put a really deep, dry moat on the other side - you get over the fence & are in the moat & can’t get out. No obstruction of the view, no unsightly fence, etc. Even the SS should be able to catch someone trapped in a cement moat. Maybe. This is a half serious solution .... I’m sure there are enough wires/pipes, etc. to preclude excavation.

It should not be funded by our taxes until a similar fence is okay end by this pos president will be built to protect our border. His life is no more important than any other U.S. citizen-—many of who are being murdered by illegals.
That will keep the illegal entrants out.
Too bad the concept of fences that works well to protect arrogant, self important, puffed up politicians won’t work on the borders to protect everyday Americans.

Ya, along the lines of what I was thinking. Barry and the talking DC heads lecture us about how walls/fences et al don’t work. So why a new fence around the WH?
