> 4,804? Wow - can Obama get rid of that many in only 2 years?

By sending them to O’s “friends” like the Saudi’s, Iran, Syria, ISIS, etc...

I wouldn’t be surprised if Kenya is now a nuclear power.

It is not the nukes we have that worry me. It is the ones pointed at us.

Everyone involved knows it would be extremely counterproductive (to put it mildly) to launch nuclear weapons at anyone. It's not going to happen.

If another country wants to attack us, they would be much better off going after our electrical grid, drinking water, etc. That keeps the damaged contained to our country.

obozo wouldn't order the use of nukes against his fellow world dictator friends no matter how many are in the US arsenal. If the US gets nuked I am convinced from what he has done and is doing that it will be of the obozo’s desire and making.

Some of us need to wake up to the emerging Sino-Russian strategic nuclear threat while Obama disarms.

there was a story the other day saying the number was around 1642, not 4804

http://freebeacon.com/national-security/china-tests-icbm-with-multiple-warheads/

and i’ve seen other stories putting the number below 1000

Well, let's look at the numbers.

14 boomers with 24 missiles each with three 300Kt warheads: 1,008 nukes.

450 land based ICBMs, each with three warheads: 1,350.

Twelve airborne bombers each with two nukes: 24.

= 2,382 nukes.

4,804 - 2,382 = 2,422 not otherwise accounted for.

Because our guidance systems are superior, we need smaller yield nukes than the Russians or anyone else. Of course, Dem presidents have been giving to our adversaries much of our advanced technology for decades.

During the Cold War, everyone carried or had the capacity to carry nukes. We used to practice loading and dropping them from maritime patrol aircraft for fleet defense/ASW. That practice stopped after the USSR folded. Frankly, giving every unit access to nukes was worrisome.

That said, yes, Obama and his minions want to disarm the US so as not to "annoy" other countries. Yet, nuclear disarmament will not happen.

That would be true if we are talking only about SANE people/nations/religions.

Since the world has a lot of insane people/nations/muslimes, the use of nukes is definitely a true threat.

“4,804 - 2,382 = 2,422 not otherwise accounted for.”

Actually, at any given time we have about 1/3rd of our nukes in depot for scheduled and un-scheduled maintenance, modifications and upgrades.

We also have a select number stored in reserve.

Not all nukes are ‘on the line’ all the time.
