...the new twist in these insidious commercials is the white male now involving himself in traditionally wife/mother labor...I know of at least three commercials that highlight a father worrying about such things as the proper laundry and dishwashing detergent...and each and every one of them have two daughters, never any sons...

...I of course have no animus towards men informing themselves about the best product on the market...but clearly the cultural message of white man relegation is the thrust of these ads...

I had to point the "dumb white male in the commercial" thing to my wife some time ago. She pretended not to notice. I asked her if she hadn't noticed the inordinate amount of ads featuring clueless, white males being shown the errors of their ways by females or black people. And also the fact that virtually all national commercials must have black people prominently displayed. Just recently she finally picked up on the latter point.

My question is: where are the Asians and Hispanics in these ads. Why don't the orgs dedicated to protecting and advancing their rights also demand more representation in ads?

I hate those the most. Any reasonably intelligent man who has children can run a laundry room (and fix the equipment when it fails), cook a meal, clean the house, etc. Madison Avenue has created a race of beings...who happen to be male and white...who cannot think their way out of a paper bag. It grinds my gears and it is insulting.
