Any Democrat?

Well, I've definitely learned my civics lesson for life.
Give me a Democrat over a Marxist/Socialist/Progressive any day.

My FR name just seemed the most descriptive at the time — gee, so long ago, now! I was young, single, and living the cubicle-career “life.” It fit.

I didn’t realize we were supposed to have screen names here!

My dad, Quick Silver, named me after his Grandpa Junk.

Submarine aficionado and honorary crewmember of Sargo SSN 583. Wanted something sub related. Ivan = John (real name) so it's a double entendre.

Is there supposed to be a link to something or? My Freeper name came from my love of flying. When I was learning to fly my first flights were in a sail plane. I would have my player with me playing songs and I would fly to the music, hence Skydancer ....

Good evening, Procon! Good evening, all!

I've mentioned it before (but probably not in the past decade or so) that my FReeper name comes from a trading-card game, a style of gaming popular in the mid-90s before the Magic: the Gathering folks got a patent and put everyone else out of business.

The game was called Guardians and Tanniker Smith was an Outlaw, but I thought it was more of a cool, science-fictiony name. I never found out the origin of it, though I did inquire.

From Motorcycle Scrambler. Kind of dirt/road ... I like/ride them all.

But also like eggs — scrambled —

and ideas — and logic —

scrambled = examine your logic. Can you really defend it?

I started as Alaska Sgt. But, then got stationed to Arizona. I asked Jim Thompson to change my name to Jet Jaguar. Now, I am back in Alaska.

Here is mine:

I was new to the political side of the internet and stumbled on a website called “Democratic Talk Radio” (a bit like DU). This was early in 2001. I was a bit shocked at what I was reading and could not believe there were people who really voiced some of these opinions.

I decided to have some fun with these people and registered. My profile was that of a JC History professor at SFCC (hence the SF). Michael comes from a dear friend, from whom I bought my first car (he had recently passed).

The lark lasted about three months. I would post feigning agreement, but play the devils advocate and ask questions back or talk about what a “student” had said. A few of them were suspicious, then the Chandra Levy/Gary Condit thing broke. I said something in defense of Condit, just to see the response. One guy called me out in such a manner that I sent him a private e-mail and confessed. He turned out to be a Freeper (Rebelbase) and told me of this site. I carried the name over.

Who woulda ever thought the Clinton years would be "the good olde days..."

Isn't that the truth.

Such a nice thread. Yes, I chose the name Lady Jane because that is what my mother called me when she wanted me to stop whatever I was doing. "Stop right there Lady Jane!" she would say when I was about to do something.

From years ago, I want to know how Senator Pardek chose his name.

Jinx was a nickname for both my Dad and I. Our troops would say “Hi, Jinx!” And so it goes...
