here's an idea, why not make brightly colored paints controlled substances to deter anyone from disguising a gun to look like a toy? Perfectly logical extension of their "reasoning". Like thinking they will stop graffiti by banning sales of spray paint to people under 18.
I think what is going to happen is a law requiring toy guns have some sort of funny shaped part that is not on any real gun. Or, just as likely, a ban on toy guns.

Like thinking they will stop graffiti by banning sales of spray paint to people under 18. A few years ago “tagging” (graffiti vandalism) was rampant along Southern CA freeways. It has been greatly reduced by prosecuting, and sending up the river, a few of the most egregious offenders.
