Threatening "9/11 -like attacks" on movie theaters is not the same as perpetrating some stupid hacking prank. It is a real terroristic threat.

If it turns out Sony is in any way involved in this crap as some kind of publicity stunt then their top executives need to do hard prison time.

That doesn’t make sense. The hack might generate interest and get people to see the movie but a terrorist threat would surely depress turnout.

If I were to see this at a theater I wouldn’t go opening weekend. Even though the chances are slim anything bad would happen, why not wait a week or two and reduce the chances to zero?

If 5%-10% of prospective viewers avoided theaters on the opening weekend, it would cause major financial pain to Sony.

You mean like Michael Brown’s step father will be charged with “incitement to riot” because he was caught on videotape encouraging the crowd to “Burn this bitch down” ??

Yea, I have faith Sony would get prosecuted if it is proven they were involved about as much as the man cited above.
