Obama is speaking this afternoon at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst. This mouthful is known more commonly as Fort Dix.
Obama has an unusual connection to this place, which makes his appearance there eerie, to say the least.
Obama began his first Illinois state senate bid with a meet-and-greet in the Chicago home of Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn. Obama could not have picked a harder-Left living room in America in which to stage his first campaign reception. Ayers and Dohrn were co-founders of the 1960s radical group the Weather Underground.
Ayers has described himself as follows:
Im a radical, Leftist, small c communist.
In 1970, Ayers summarized the Weathermens philosophy: Kill all the rich people. Break up their cars and apartments. Bring the revolution home. Kill your parents.
For her part, Dohrn was hardly a typical, midwestern housewife.
Theres no way to be committed to non-violence in the middle of the most violent society that historys ever created, Dohrn declared in 1969. I am not committed to non-violence in any way.
Ayers, Dohrn, and the Weathermen went on a bombing campaign that blasted the Pentagon, the State Department, Gulf Oils Pittsburgh headquarters, San Franciscos Presidio military base, and New Yorks Queens Courthouse.
One of the Weather Undergrounds bombs went off early, thank God.
Weathermen (Weatherpersons?) Ted Gold, Diana Oughton (Ayerss then-girlfriend), and Terry Robbins, fatally detonated themselves on March 6, 1970. They were constructing a bomb inside a townhouse at 18 West 11th Street in Greenwich Village. Within the debris, cops discovered an anti-tank shell and 60 sticks of dynamite.
What was their target?
Were they better bomb makers, Ayerss comrades would have set off a nail-filled bomb at a dance for non-commissioned officers and their dates and spouses at Fort Dix. As Ayers has observed, the bomb would have ripped through windows and walls and, yes, people too.
That bomb never went off, fortunately enough.
And today, one of Bill Ayerss protégés is Americas commander-in-chief, addressing GIs at the same military facility that Ayers & Co. tried to blast to bits.
The circle of radicalism is complete.
The guy just loves poking people in the eye. Especially military people.
HaHa!
A thread where nobody can post what they’re thinking!
How unspecial. He shows up to speak to captive audiences.
Both Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn are sickening anti-American criminals from the 60s/70s commie crowd and any leader of this country that would associate himself or herself with them is not worthy of that position.
Criminals all.
I don’t talk about this much, but a group of my friend (and I) were freshmen in college, as well as musicians. We were scheduled as the entertainment at For Dix that day, but got a call the dance was cancelled due to a bomb scare. Bill Ayers targeted my friends and I (who today are mostly physicians and dentists). I have little love for Bill Ayers, and not much for Ayers friend Barack Obama, either.
You’d think that Barry would avoid the place where is his close personal friend and mentor Bill Ayers wants to set off nail bombs, but he seems totally oblivious. His only reaction today was probably rage that these nobodies did not laugh at his joke that compared them to helpful Santas. Barry is totally clueless. It’s a mystery why his handlers let him out to speak publicly.
COME ON! Barry says Ayers is “just some guy in the neighborhood.”
The sense of a chasm between Obie and his audence...and he did seem them as his audience....was rather obvious,, as one could expect... but I wasnt aware of the Bill Ayers connection to the locale.
Thank you.
In “Prairie Fire” Ayers said killing up to 30 million Americans might be required in order to build the type of new system they envisioned.
I’m tired of reading “the 60s radical group” Weather Underground. They came from SDS and their first action was in later (October/November 1969) with the Days of Rage riots in Chicago about the Chicago 7 trial from the Chicago riots at the DNC convention in 1968.
The bulk of their activities were in the 1970s (including Ayers’ bombing the Pentagon in 1972).
They were still underground and killing in the 1980s (a bank robbery to fund their activities).
Enough of this “Obama was a wittle boy and didn’t know any of this” BS.
I’m glad the plot literally blew up in the faces of the Weather Underground terrorists thus sparing you, your friends and who knows how many others.
It’s just too bad more of the WU, including Ayers and Dorn, didn’t blow up that day. Had that happened, maybe Obama would just be some third rate college lecturer ranting his days away in relative obscurity.
Probably scouting a location for a memorial to Billy Ayers.
The fact that all those 60s and 70s leftist terrorists are not in prison says all that needs to be said about the state this country was and is in.
Most of them ended up as highly paid professors.
Obama will empty all prisons his last week in Office
They’re both smirky, arrogant Progressives but the problem is that those who voted for him are also smirky, arrogant Probressives.
IMHO
Here’s some excellent source material, MM.
